Hi,
We are evaluating Power BI as a potential tool for creating our Dashboards and Reports. We have the below Reuqirement.
Objective: Create Dashboards and reports for our clients and deploy them in client machines which are fully on-premise (no public internet access).
Development Environment: Our Developers will develop the reports in their local system using Power BI Report Server Desktop.
Deployment Environment: Power BI Report Server will be installed in our client's machines and the reports will be deployed thorugh Report Server. SQL Server will also be available in the same machines.
Limitation: Our client's systems are fully on-premise and there is no provision for them to connect to any kind of cloud (no public internet).
With this limitation, will our above requirement work?
Anyone here, who has built or is familiar with a similar setup, can you please share your insights on this.

So technically this should work. Report Server is designed to work without a cloud connection. However from a licensing perspective every machine that runs Report Server is required to either have all the cores running Report Server covered by a SQL Enterprise license with Software Assurance or have an associated P1 or higher premium SKU

Thank you for your answer. We are actually also trying to find the pricing perspective of this.
As it is not a cloud product, so I dont think usage-wise pricing will work here.
Is there any link where we can check the pricing details for Report Server?
Hi @Susmit_G ,
There are two ways of licensing report server you can either have an Enterprise SQL Server license with Software Assurance or you can buy Power BI premium capacity. If you buy via premium capacity you are licensed to have the same number of cores used for an on-prem Report Server. You can find pricing information here Pricing & Product Comparison | Microsoft Power BI the entry price for premium is for a P1 capacity which has 8 cores. The pricing for Enterprise SQL Server with SA depends on your enterprise agreement with Microsoft.

Thanks for the details.
Hi @Susmit_G ,
Yes.
Power BI Report Server is an on-premises report server with a web portal in which you display and manage reports and KPIs. Along with it come the tools to create Power BI reports, paginated reports, mobile reports, and KPIs. Your users can access those reports in different ways: viewing them in a web browser or mobile device, or as an email in their in-box.
