Hello experts,
I want to develop a custom visual which allows user to modify data in data souce.
For example, the data source is SQL Server. I can setup default credentials for the custom visual or pop up a form to enter credentials to connect to data source.
The custom visual should allow user to edit data within a data form or enter SQL query to write back data.
I know there are some custom visuals in AppSource market. But they are expensive for us. We want to develop similar ones.
Is it possible?

Hi @zeonz ,
Do you mean to write back to the SQL Server data source, Power BI may not support this feature, because Power BI custom visual mainly to obtain data from the data source, the data will be displayed to form the customer's expected visualization effect, for security and architecture, and will not support the power bi directly in the go to the data source in the data manipulation or transaction operations.
You can consider other ways:
Using Power Automate to create workflows.
Integrate Power BI data alerts with Power Automate - Power BI | Microsoft Learn
For detailed guidance on developing custom visuals, you can refer to the official documentation: Develop Power BI visuals.
